FSP wins NW 7v7 Title

Music was blaring, the sun was shining, and the hype was real at Madison High School in Portland on Sunday. The Northwest 7v7 Title was on the line and Team E-Force and Team FSP competed from warmups until they crowned a champion. E-Force coach Don Johnson gave a powerful pre game speech to both teams about sportsmanship and connected with players before they started competition. Both squads were equally matched with both 4 star headliners out of action. Salvon Ahmad from Juanita High School in Kirkland and Elijah Molden from West Linn, Oregon are considered almost mirror images of each other when it comes to the game of football. Both players play defensive back and running back for their respected schools and top 100 recruits with offers from almost everyone.

E-Force was led by Connor Neville at quarterback from Wilsonville and his brother Jonny Neville

the 6’4” 200lb receiver. E-Force hosted the main event and were a welcoming host. Head Coach Alex Brink former Washington State quarterback who was the only Cougar quarterback ever to win 3 Apple Cup’s was back competing against the top talent in Washington. Ford Sports Performance heard a lot about this matchup knowing they played just a day before in Tukwila, Washington for the Left Coast Elite 7v7 title. Just like Saturday Team FSP took home the hardware in a statement performance heading into 7v7 Pylon Tournament in Las Vegas.

Future Washington Husky Connor Wedington lead the defense with 8 interceptions and showed Duck fans a preview of the athletes Chris Petersen has brought in especially in secondary. He was the defensive player of the day tracking down ball after ball and embarrassing receivers. Princeton Lollar Jr from Oak Harbor did big things on both sides of the ball getting touchdowns and timely interceptions using his size and speed. Glacier Peak quarterback Ayden Ziomas continued to look good as just a freshman finding open targets all day. He led last year’s 8th grade team to a 7v7 Pylon Title. The surprise of the day might have been Trey Adams the Crescent Valley cornerback/receiver from Corvallis who plays for Team FSP even being from team E-Force territory. The 5’11” 175lb athlete has been traveling to Seattle on weekends to join his Team FSP family and his coaches and teammates have enjoyed his company off and on the field.

2017’s Zach Lewis the next quarterback at Eastside Catholic was busy throwing to his high school

teammate Hunter Bryant. The 4 star tight end recruit is ranked the 3rd overall by position in the nation has offers from the likes of Washington, Washington State, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and others impressed all 7v7 season for team FSP and Sunday was no different. Cornerback Ira Branch continued to impress from Mt. Tahoma and is emerging on the recruiting front using his cover skills with having to replace Salvon Ahmad on FSP Blue Chip squad.

Play of the day went to Kamiak’s Alex Indelicato who put 3 defenders on skates to clinch the NW title in fashion. Indelicato is a footballer and national lacrosse star showed his explosiveness in the open field. His teammates showed nothing but love meeting him in the end zone yelling “let’s go home.”

FSP 8th grade squad did take a loss but was without middle school Phenom Michael Franklin who was in Georgia for Trent Dilfer’s camp. Gee Scott Jr continued to impress at wide receiver already at 6-2 is regarded as the future star in the state of Washington. He is already getting comparisons to Reggie Williams and Teyo Johnson both high school stars in the state of Washington who dominated the Pac-12 ranks before heading to the NFL.

E-Force showcased wide receiver Braden Lenzy from Tigard, Demetrius Douglas a physical corner from Jesuit, and the 6’3” 200lb linebacker Daniel Green the Madison High Schooler who also plays running back on his Senator team. E-Force who just started their season wasn’t in post season mode like Ford Sports Performance and it was a good wakeup call before they hit Las Vegas. Each program brought 4 teams from 8th to 11th grade and showcased both northwest states top talent. The championship game between both highlighted squads was a 47-26 final score in favor of FSP Blue Chip squad who is going into Las Vegas with a lot of promise.

Fans were treated to a great event and most likely witnessed at least 25 future Pac 12 caliber players when it’s all said and done. 7v7 football is growing rapidly nationally and is a great way to make football a year around sport without putting on the pads. Both programs are led by excellent coaches and mentors on and off the field. Both states have a lot to be proud of and this event should be even bigger next season. Who knows both teams could be playing again very soon in Sin City.
