Left Coast Elite 7v7 Championship Re-Cap

Saturday marked the end of Left Coast Elite’s 7v7 season in its inaugural year. From game one in January until the Championship Game this past weekend, it has been all about team FSP Blue Chip. On Saturday FSP Blue Chip beat Stadium in an entertaining title game at Foster High School in the heart of Tukwila. Blue Chip was led by Left Coast Elite MVP’s Willie Patterson, and Connor Wedington. Patterson, the Franklin Pierce Cardinal quarterback, played wide out for FSP Blue Chip. He was a standout all season at his new position making highlight touchdown catches every game. Connor Wedington, the future Washington Husky and Left Coast Elite Defensive MVP, flourished all year at defensive back with 8 interceptions on Saturday helping team FSP Blue Chip cap off a perfect record throughout the Left Coast Elite 7v7 season. It was the “Connor Wedington Show” as he continued to use his length and ball hawking skills to confuse quarterbacks one after another. He is listed at numerous positions for his high school team, The Sumner Spartans, but I truly believe his best college and pro position will be at the corner or safety position. He could be the most underrated 3 star recruit in the nation and should be at least a 4 star player by the end of his high school football career.

Stadium High had a great season led by quarterback Hunter Wendling and Jamon Chambers. This pair gave Team FSP a good run for their money Saturday but fell short finishing 2nd in the league. Both players will be seniors next season for the Tigers and the future looks bright with a lot of key returners. Also making a huge impact on Saturday was the great play of FSP Blue Chippers Ira Branch and Marques Hampton Jr. All season long Ira Branch locked down his side of the field against great receivers every weekend. The 6’1” 170lb Mt. Tahoma corner is extremely underrated and should be gaining more collegiate attention by next football season. Marques Hampton, the Steilacoom Totem wide receiver, has been consistent all 7v7 season despite playing basketball for his high school at the same time. He has been known to be a great route runner with dependable hands to compliment his athleticism.

Salvon Ahmad the 4 star athlete from Juanita High was out due to a back injury he suffered in

practice earlier in the week. Joey Sinclair, Lincoln High quarterback, had a lot in common with offensive MVP Willie Patterson by playing wide receiver for his 7v7 team and showed he could continue to be a threat no matter what position you line him up at. Eastside Catholic’s Hunter Bryant has continued to bully opposing defensive backs and show he doesn’t need pads to dominate a football game. His receiving skills are the best I have seen from a high school tight end since Jerramy Stevens played at River Ridge High School. Hunter’s upside is so high that he should be starting on your fantasy football team sooner than later. The 4 star tight end recruit from the class of 2017 will continue his dominance for his Crusader team next fall as he continues to be rolling in offers from Washington, Washington State, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and others. His FSP Blue Chip and Eastside Catholic quarterback Zach Lewis is expected to be the starter next fall for Crusaders and he has led the Left Coast Elite 7v7 in almost all passing categories. This exciting brand of football has shown promise for the 7v7 format and next year’s forecast is looking strong for Left Coast Elite 7v7.
