Top Athletes (2017)

1. Salvon Ahmed ATH- 5-11 186- Juanita HS Class of 2017

There was never a debate from the FSP Prep Zone board when voting who was the top athlete in the state for the class of 2017. Salvon has been rated a 4 star recruit and ranked the 8th best athlete in the country and No. 2 on the west coast by scout.com. Salvon is a thert to take it the distance from anywhere on the field offensively from his running back position but what his film does not display is his skill set on defense. Salvon was a locked down corner in the winter/spring in 2015 playing on the FSP 7on7 National Travel team and picked up all tournament honors at the Pylon 7v7 National Championship in Las Vegas. Playing on the opposite side of 2016 4 star recruit and Washington commit Isaiah Gillchrist. Salvon has fluent hips, great instincts, and possesses great ball skills, his ability to break on balls, and his natural feel playing in zone coverage puts himself in position to make a lot of plays. With Salvon’s size and speed we feel he projects best at the next level as a Corner and a return specialist because of his big play ability.

Offers: Washington, USC, Oregon, Stanford, Washington State, Oregon State, Utah

Recruit Comparison: Budda Baker, Bellevue HS signed w/ Washington (2014)

2. Daniel Johnson ATH- 6-4 185- Mountlake Terrace HS- Class of 2017

Extremely rangy athletic prospect that is not scared of contact, Daniel recorded 544 yards on 22 catches as a junior but has the ability to make more of an impact from his Safety position. Has the length and speed to cover the field and close on balls in a hurry. Very raw athlete that has the frame to easily put on up to 20lbs at the next level.

Recruit Comparison: Brandon Keeler Federal Way HS- Signed w/ Eastern Washington (2002)

3. Nkeil Nelson ATH 6-5 220- Rainer Beach HS- Class of 2017

Giant prospect that plays quarterback but can easily project as a TE/DE at the next level because of his size and athletisiam. Transferred from Shadle Park (Spokane) and missed the first half of his junior season only playing in five regular season games. Tremendous upside with potential to gain a lot of attention if he can make a splash during the winter/spring college camp circuit. Will need to be able to show college coaches he is not just a "Basketball Player Playing Football".

Recruit Comparison: Jordan Slye, Franklin HS signed w/ Washington (2002)

4. Quinton Lewis ATH 5-11 183- O’Dea HS Class of 2017

Looks good on tape, good route runner, but lacks the top end speed to be a vertical threat at the next level. Showed inconsistency in catching the ball in traffic at FSP’s May Madness last spring and had a hard time beating press coverage. Great hips, good feet and looks fluent in his back pedal from his corner position but is subjected to give up big plays against better competition.

Recruit Comparison: Nolan Washington Kennedy HS signed w/ Washington State (2009)
